YS Federal Credit Union Credit and Debit Card Information Included in Data Breach
YS Federal Credit Union has been notified that some of our members’ debit and credit cards have been affected by a national data breach by Heartland Payment Systems, Inc., a payment processing company. Heartland Payment Systems processes debit and credit card payments for approximately 250,000 businesses nationwide. Heartland is NOT a vendor of YS Federal, or associated with the credit union, in any way. Heartland simply processes credit and debit card transactions for merchants you may do business with. We are currently reissuing debit and credit cards to members whose cards have been identified in Heartland’s information breach. Members who receive a new card will have approximately one week to activate it before their old card is deactivated. We apologize for any inconvenience but, as always, the safety of our members’ information is extremely important to us. We also want to reassure you that accounts are being monitored 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for any suspicious activity. We have implemented enhanced monitoring programs to specifically watch for suspicious activity on all of our cards. If any suspect transactions are identified, we will contact you immediately. We highly recommend that you also regularly review your account statements by using on-line services such as ezcard info.com or CU@Home and notify us immediately if you identify any unusual activity. REGISTER NOW!!! MasterCard SecureCode enables YSCU Debit MasterCard holders to feel more secure when making Internet purchases with their cards. The cardholder enrolls in the MasterCard SecureCard program by entering secure information, which is validated against information provided by YSCU to STAR. Once the secure information has been validated, the cardholder chooses a password. The password is subsequently utilized for all online purchases.
